This website is operated under a freelance license registered in Mexico. This privacy notice is issued in compliance with Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In the event of any discrepancy between the Spanish and English versions, the Spanish version shall prevail.

What data is collected

Website analytics

This website uses Umami Cloud for anonymous usage statistics (see their privacy policy). This tool does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across websites. The following aggregate information is collected:

• Pages visited and referral source
• Browser, device type, and operating system
• Country and approximate region of origin
• Session duration

No IP addresses are stored. No personally identifiable information is gathered. No data is shared with third parties or used for advertising.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to the newsletter, the following data is collected:

• Email address (required)
• Name (optional, if provided)
• Date and time of subscription
• Consent confirmation via double opt-in

The newsletter is delivered through Brevo. Your email address is stored by this provider solely for delivering the newsletter. Their privacy policy is available here: https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/.

The newsletter may include aggregate tracking of open rates and link clicks to understand which content is useful and to measure traffic the newsletter brings to this website. This data is not used to build individual profiles.

Why data is collected

• Analytics: To understand how the website is used so content can be improved. Under the LFPDPPP, the analytics tool does not collect personal data, so no consent is required for this purpose. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Newsletter: To send you the content you subscribed to. Under the LFPDPPP, your consent is obtained through double opt-in. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Who has access to your data

• Mariano Orozco Garcia — data controller
• Umami Cloud (umami.is) — processes anonymized analytics data. Data is hosted on servers in the United States.
• Brevo — processes email addresses for newsletter delivery. Data is hosted on servers in the European Union.

Your data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for purposes not described in this notice.

International data transfers

Analytics and newsletter data may be processed on servers located in the United States. Under the LFPDPPP, this transfer is permitted as the data recipient maintains comparable data protection standards. Under the GDPR, cookieless analytics do not process personal data; for newsletter data, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are in place.

Data retention

• Analytics: Aggregated, non-personal analytics data is retained indefinitely.
• Newsletter: Your email address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed. After unsubscribing, it is deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

Your rights

ARCO rights (LFPDPPP — Mexico)

You have the right to:

• Access: Know what personal data is held about you and how it is used.
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Cancellation: Request deletion of your data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
• Opposition: Object to the processing of your personal data for specific purposes.

To exercise your ARCO rights, send a request to contacto@marianoog.com including your full name, a description of the data and rights you wish to exercise, and any documentation that supports your request. You will receive a response within 20 business days.

Rights under the GDPR (European Union)

If you are located in the European Union, you additionally have the right to:

• Data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Restriction: Request that processing of your data be limited.
• Withdraw consent: For the newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
• Lodge a complaint: You may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for analytics or tracking. No cookie consent banner is required.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, a session cookie may be used during the subscription process to maintain form state. This is strictly necessary and does not require consent.
